LongHunter Precision's Story:      

        Gregory Allen is a retired veteran of 20 years who served six years in the US Navy and 14 years in the US Army. Beginning his Naval carreer he was stationed in Souda Bay, Crete, Greece and Rota, Spain and was a member of Rota, Spain’s Embarked Security Teams (EST), providing security for US contracted ships carrying US military equipment to the Middle East. While in the Army, he completed Airborne School, and served with 1-15 Infantry, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division where he deployed to Iraq as a platoon leader. After deployments to Afghanistan and Korea Greg retired from the Army in late 2020.

        No stranger to the weight of a pack with the gear required to sustain a soldier in the field for days and even weeks a time, Greg created LongHunter Precision, where he could focus on making lightweight, maneuverable, and packable precision hunting rifles that could be more easily carried into the most demanding terrain. Long Hunter Precision’s vision is to model the original Long Hunters that helped to settle parts of Tennessee and Kentucky. Long Hunters were known to leave their homes in Virginia and travel deep into the wilderness of Tennessee and Kentucky for up to six months at a time, surviving out of small spike camps set up to store and preserve the meat and hides they hunted before returning to their farms in Virginia.  It is with this tradition in mind and an admiration for these men that Long Hunter Precision was born.
